Botox & Fillers

ABOUT BOTOX® TREATMENTS

Botox® injection treatments are commonly used to treat all areas of the face as these treatments can combat both fine lines and also deep wrinkles.

Botox® treatments have been used as Cosmetic Treatments since the late 1980’s, revolutionising the cosmetic industry due to their remarkable results combined with very few risks and no recovery time.

Botox® injections have been used to treat millions of patients worldwide and is the world’s most popular Non Surgical treatment.

Reduces the appearance of lines and wrinkles already formed, by relaxing muscles, restoring a more youthful appearance. Can also be used to prevent premature lines lines from forming in younger people (over 18s only).
Over time the treatment re-educates the muscle so time between treatments will increase.

Untreated areas of the face aren’t affected, so you can still smile and frown, but the skin on the treated areas won’t wrinkle as much as usual.
Botox treatments are non-invasive with virtually no recovery time necessary; you can resume your normal activities immediately after.

Botox treatments are ideal for easing over-active muscle movement that can cause deep frown lines and crows feet.

Botox also re-educates muscles as the Clostridium Botulinum bacteria will induce long-term relaxation of contracted muscles.

Lines and wrinkles are a natural and unstoppable part of the ageing process. While they are inevitable they can be prevented and reduced.

It’s essential that you attend a Registered Clinic and are consulted prior to your treatment by a qualified practitioner so that a tailor made treatment programme can be started.

The results of Botox are not immediate and can take between 5-10 days to come into full effect. Immediately following your treatment you are advised to avoid exercise and hot baths to prevent sweating out the Botox.

We also recommend avoiding massaging or rubbing the area for 24 hours after the treatment has been injected. You will be provided with aftercare instructions after your treatment.

The treatment will generally last around 4 months but continued treatments will increase this time as your muscles are gradually relaxed.

DERMAL FILLERS

A dermal filler treatment involves injecting a medically developed hyaluronic acid solution under the skin with a fine needle to enhance facial features and plump and fill lines, grooves or sunken areas.

Dermal Fillers are used to treat a range of skin concerns, including lack of volume and shallow to deep wrinkles and folds, such as smile, marionette and lipstick lines and those on the corners of the mouth and chin.

Administered correctly by a trained professional, they can subtly smooth, soften, contour and tone the skin; restore youthful plumpness, enhance and define your features.

For deeper lines and wrinkles, dermal fillers are a popular treatment choice.

.

Working at a deep dermal level to delay the signs of ageing, this simple procedure is designed to ‘fill out’ and smooth wrinkles in troublesome areas:

  • Nose to Mouth Grooves (Nasolabial)
  • Lipstick Lines
  • Mouth to chin lines (Marionette lines)
  • Lines and wrinkles in the lower face
  • Dermal filler can also be used to plump lips and define the lip border.

What are dermal fillers?

The primary ingredient of dermal fillers is hyaluronic acid, a natural component of skin. A natural sugar found in your body, hyaluronic acid commonly occurs in skin, joints and in the eyes.

The role of hyaluronic acid in skin is to hydrate the skin (by attracting and binding to water molecules), to act as a cushioning agent and also to deliver nutrients.

What happens during treatment?

Fillers are injected just below the skin using very fine needles. Most patients choose not to have anaesthesia as the discomfort is minimal. A mild anaesthetic cream can be used for people that are sensitive to the treatment.

How long will it take to perform?

Depending on the type of dermal fillers you have, treatment can take around 30 minutes – 1 hour

How long do results last?

Typically the results of a dermal filler treatment can last from 6 to 9 months, but this varies from one person to another. The dermal filler is gradually broken down and naturally absorbed by the body.

Are there any side effects?

There is a very small possibility of allergic reaction, which will be discussed with you when you visit the clinic for a consultation. You can expect some degree of swelling and redness after the treatment, which usually normalises within 1 – 2 days. There is also a risk of bruising which generally settles after a few days.

What do they do?

Dermal fillers offer a safe and natural way of restoring volume and fullness to refresh and revitalise your looks by supporting the skin’s natural structure.

When will I begin to notice the effects?

The results of your dermal filler treatment can be seen immediately.

Are they safe?

Dermal fillers are extremely safe as the ingredient is a naturally occurring substance found in the body.
